JOZY`S MEMORIAL PILLOW

pamelas-pals-004.jpgA few months ago, Sissie 2 (Suzi- the sister in the middle) and her husband lost their cat to old age.  She was a nice kitty so I decided to make a pillow cover to in her honor.  It is just a simple applique but it was fun putting it together.  Most of the time is spent trying to decide on a color scheme when I do applique.  Once I get a color scheme, I like to play around with different fabrics to see what looks best.  This is how it turned out.  By the way, she said she is done with animals for awhile.  I hope she`ll take this one in as it requires little care.

THANK YOU

Thank you for the lovely comments.  I am really looking forward to getting a small band of like-minded sisters (BYODB= bring you own drool bucket) to go on the trek to Yokohama.

QUILT SHOW

quilt-001.jpgYesterday, the 25th, I went to to the Tokyo Quilt Show at Tokyo Dome.  The entire Dome was filled with incredibly beautiful quilts with a special exhibit of antique quilts from Sweden.  I left with a small amount of fabric and loads of inspiration.  Most of the books and all of the patterns were in Japanese, but, as sewing and quilting knows no borders, it was easy to see the labor and love that went into making each and every quilt up close.  The junior division was especially wonderful even though some of them were held together with a few stitches here and there and possibly dabs of glue.   There were lots of booths selling anything and everything a quilter could want, and I wanted it all.  Well, there is another quilt show in Yokohama this fall.
