madi`s stuff

Wow, blog, it has been forever.  I really have been working on stuff but second semester work has been exhausting , to say the least.  Here are a few pictures of some “doggie blankets” I am making for my sister`s new maltese doggie Madii.  They adopted her from someone who saved her from being mistreated.  The person who saved her couldn`t keep her so my sister and her husband took her into their home.   Madii is orginally from Florida and although she is about 4 years old, she got her first taste of Northeastern PA snow this year.  They dress her to the nines and she apparently loves it.

For myself, I am working on a Lois Ericson jacket called “The Band.”  Pictures of that later.  It had been so long since I put something together that I sewed the interfacing on the wrong way and could not for the life of me figure out why it was standing up in the back.  All is well now but, wow, do I feel stupid.   I plan to make the same pattern but next time without sleeves and call it a vest!!!  I love vests – they hide a multitude of sins and make a person feel put together but are not as hot a jackets.  With the hotflashes, I really don`t need that extra layer.dsc00641
Anyway, I will be making two small blankets for Madii by quilting these two squares.  Oh, and by the way, here is a picture of Madii in her holiday kimono, right from the doggie boutique in Japan.kimono-madii1

I love your doggie quilts. Too good for canines…spread ‘em around to your human pals, too. Hehheh. Can’t wait to see the jacket. And I agree with your opinions of vests and jackets.
